How to create Collage Pins

MARCH 2024

On the Pinterest app ( iOS mobile devices only) there is an option to create ‘Collage Pins’. This is a newly added feature following the success of the Pinterest collage tool Shuffles. Collages are a great way to help you express ideas visually and see how things come together on Pinterest. As well as saving Pins to your boards, you can save just the objects you love as cutouts and put them together to create a collage.

We love them already! They feel like an interactive mood board with shoppable cutouts.

Examples of how you can use collages for your business:

  • You can create mood boards with cutouts from your favourite Pins.
  • You can add different products so your customers can see how they look together. Collages made with product Pins will be shoppable.
  • Collages are great for gift guides, product collections and seasonal inspiration.
  • You can cut out images from your camera roll and combine them with other cutouts to create something new.

Good to know: On your Pinterest app each cutout is linked to a product or webpage. On your desktop each cutout is linked to the actual Pin.

How to share your Pinterest boards

JUNE 2024

Pinterest has just released a new way of sharing your Pinterest content to your social media platforms and beyond. You can now easily download video clips of your individual Pinterest boards and share them to your Instagram stories or other platforms.

We love this new board sharing feature! It brings your Pinterest boards to life by creating captivating visual montages or photos from your Pins within your board. Sharing your boards helps reaching a larger audience and increasing engagement.

There are two ways to showcase your board content. Either by using the ‘Add to story’ feature on Instagram, or by downloading the board video to your camera roll so you can share to your platform of choice.

Pinterest board clips are great for Video Pins which allows you to add music and tag products.

How to access the board sharing feature:

  • Visit the board you would like to share.
  • Tap the share icon on the top right on your mobile app (the board must be public).
  • A video will auto-generate.
  • To share this video on IG stories: Click on the ‘Add to story’ button (Instagram should automatically open). Don’t forget to copy your board URL, so you can add it to your stories!
  • There is an optional ‘Edit’ icon where you can choose from different video templates or edit your Pin selection. We love it!
  • Or click on ‘Download’ the video to share anywhere.

Although I actively embrace all forms of social media for myself and my clients, I have previously only ‘dabbled’ in Pinterest. It was after taking part in one of Dörte’s Pinterest coaching sessions that I truly began to find the love. Understanding that Pinterest is more of a search engine than a social media platform, and creating content that really works and drives traffic has been part of this journey.
